Competition Success

Lancelot has had a successful ridden career culminating in standing reserve champion Connemara Stallion at The Royal Dublin Show.

Since Coming to England in June 2015 Lancelot's talents are now focused on showjumping.

He has won many noticeable working hunter titles, qualifying for the Connemara High Performance, a championship contested by some of the best performance ponies in Ireland, BSPS Championships and Connemara Breed Shows. He has wins in dressage and strong placings in arena eventing.

He is consistently jumping double clears with a child and is working his way up through the classes - currently Successfully competing at Foxhunter, he has secured all his double clears at Discovery, Newcomers and Foxhunter double clears in his first novice season - all amongst his stud duties.

He was awarded champion graded stallion for England and Wales and reserve champion stallion for the UK with the Sports Pony Studbook in 2016 and has since based on his performance record been award permanent studbook status.

In 2017, on points gained through affiliated showjumping throughout the year he was awarded the prestigious titles by the the British Connemara Pony Society performance award scheme Performance Champion Stallion, Showjumping Champion and ridden by Junior Champion. A well supported scheme but there was no match for Lancelot's 5420 points.

Breeding

His sire, Frederiksminde Hazy Merlin is a Danish imported Class 1 Connemara stallion. His Sire, Hazy Dawn and Dam, Oxenholm Movie Star, together have bred 3 class 1 stallions and 9 class 1 mares who are significantly representing the true traditional Connemara pony. Hazy Dawn was the first pony to ever get the mark 10/10 for type at inspections and in addition to his mating with Merlin’s Dam, Hazy Dawn has Sired a further 9 approved Stallions, there are too many significant names to mention any without naming all.

Lancelots dam, Kippure Kim, a bay registered mare has the most extraordinary rare Connemara bloodlines. Herself she has no record of achievement but the achievements of her parentage as influences on the breed are now legends in books. Her sire, Thunderbay, described as a miracle pony who seemed to fall from the sky he was late to be used and had many years of unknown location, he is a rare but very important line. A direct decendant of Thunderbolt, you wouldn’t need to delve far into record of FEI recognised Connemara ponies to find many of them are representing the Thunderbolt line way back, rarely would it be this close in bloodlines of an approved stallion available in the current market.
