Competition Successes

Supreme Champion at the Lincolnshire and East Midlands Connemara Breed Show 2016 on his competition debut. Winner and Champion M&M on his second time out. Ridden Champion and Reserve Supreme in 2017 on his ridden debut.

Ross has had a very productive breeding career in ireland before coming to England. Progeny of Ross are excelling in all aspects of competition and family life they are particularly noted for having exceptional temperaments, top class movers and going onto be brilliant all rounders in the show ring and as performance ponies.

Recently Graded with the SPSS(uk) to suit our non Connemara breeders breeding for sport, Ross gained exceptional marks with amazing comments from the graders and was the reserve champion stallion in Scotland.

Breeding

His sire, Coral Ross, a class 1 Connemara stallion out of Bibi, Bibi is a prolific performance broodmare, she has 3 class one stallion sons. Coral Ross Himself has sired four Class 1 approved stallion all of whom have their own stock now representing the breed internationally as performance ponies, many of which have topped the gelding sale prices in Ireland

His dam, Annagh, a class 1 Connemara mare as a foal won 17 first prizes, retiring a champion she was never shown again, she then went on to breed several exceptional performance mares and stallions, most noticeably Dohulla Sandy who is now showjumping internationally.

Her sire, Robin Hood is found in the back breeding of a great number of performance ponies. An old fashioned line in the forefront of Ross’ bloodlines known as “the great Robin Hood from Annaghdown” he is out of the legendary mare Village Grey , one of the first of the village line she was the dam of 7 class one stallion sons who carry on this valued sought after line.

Ross has been greatly influential of Type as a Sire.

To a lighter built mare he adds substance and bone without compromising the performance ability of the offspring but equally to a stronger built mare the traditional Connemara type is retained. Evident in his progeny focusing on type doesn't distract away that he is throwing conformationally correct offspring, a no brainer as why he is so successful as a sire.

in 2017 he was available via shipped semen for the first time and finished the season with 100% conception AI and Natural

A super stamp of a sport pony stallion with an outstanding temperament.

Very pleasing and correct overall conformation.

Progeny

Ross' progeny are excelling in the show ring with fantastic results at county level, some have enjoyed there first season hunting and some are in training with showjumpers - one thing that shares across the board with his progeny is that the temperaments are fantastic, the breed type is retained and they have tremendous ability to perform.
